Dr. Jeremy Gallego Eckstein is a board-certified surgeon, educator, and entrepreneur, dedicated to transforming how physicians track and leverage their professional data. As the founder and CEO of UNIRA, he created a physician-centric platform that empowers doctors with ownership of their information. Born in New York into a family of physicians, Dr. Eckstein trained in general surgery at Mount Sinai and Maimonides in New York, followed by a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. He has practiced for over 15 years at Memorial Healthcare System in Florida, where he leads the Hernia Institute and established Florida’s first Center of Excellence for Hernia Surgery. The idea for UNIRA was born during Dr. Eckstein’s own residency when he recognized a critical gap in how physicians track and document their professional activities. While residents and attendings generate vast amounts of valuable data—from cases and consults to research and presentations—there was no unified system to capture and utilize this information efficiently. Twenty years later, the problem persisted. UNIRA is Dr. Eckstein’s solution: a platform designed to seamlessly integrate into a physician’s workflow, transforming documentation into a tool for career growth, education, and professional validation. With a passion for surgical innovation, medical education, and physician advocacy, Dr. Eckstein is committed to creating technology that enhances—not hinders—the work of busy surgeons. When not in the operating room or building UNIRA, he enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his family.
